#1 Kite Point – Malpeque Bay, Kensington
Home to our Kiteboarding School and the best place to take a lesson or practice those freestyle tricks. Also the most well-known kiteboarding spot on the island, with consistent Southernly winds, shallow waters perfect for learning, and a top-notch local kiteboarding atmosphere.
- Wind Direction – South / South East / South West / North (gusty). Kitepoint is ridable on almost all direction except an Easterly wind. Wind builds throughout the day and usually stays until sunset. Live Forecast
- Launch Area – Large cut grass area at the end of Princtown Rd, drive past Malpeque Bay Kayak Adventures, park on the right facing North, kite rigging on the left, likely to see lots of kites on a windy day. Please roll your lines and be respectful to the locals kiting here!
- Food – We recommend bringing the BBQ or head back toward Kensington to grab a bite at the Kensington Train Station or Frosty Treat Dairy Bar!

#2 South Shore – Victoria By The Sea
- Wind Direction – South / South West winds are best. The wind picks up around sunset and at tide changes from low to high to add more knots to your ride. Live Forecast
- Launch Area – Large grassy launch area at the park on the Causeway Rd before the bridge into Victoria By the Sea , be sure to watch for tourists and give us a call or email if you are planning to ride here. Its in the backyard of our instructors and we are always happy to help!
- Food – Check out the Lobster Barn or Beachcombers in the small village of Victoria a short 3 min drive down the coast.
#3 North Shore – Cabot Beach Prov Park
Wave Action, Epic Ocean Riding, and a huge beach launch, give the diverse and challenging conditions of Cabot Beach a great experience to kiteboarders looking for a more advanced and wavy experience.- Wind Direction – Strong North Winds / NW or NE is best. Live Forecast
- Launch Area – Beach launch, you can park at the Cabot Beach provincial park area and walk your gear across the boardwalk to rig on the beach. Be sure to watch out for beach traffic!
- Food – We recommend bringing the BBQ or head back toward Kensington to grab a bite at the Kensington Train Station or Frosty Treat Dairy Bar!
- Tips – There is a remote island and wave break a solid 20 min upwind tack, you can land your kite on and take a break, also bring a surfboard!
#4 Robinsons Island, Charlottetown
Staying in Charlottetown but want to ride close to the city. Robinson Island Provincial Park is your best bet for scoring some wind. The location is Kite able on the inland in southern winds, and ocean side on north winds, Robinsons Island is a stunning location that we always swing by .-
Wind Direction – South / South East / South West – Inland side, North / North East / North West for ocean side. Live Forecast

Launch Area – We recommend by passing the main beach and heading west toward the Robinson Island Trail head, park before the bend to launch on inland side, park at end of the bend for a short walking path to the ocean side.

Food – Check out the Dunes on the war home for some fine dining or hit up one of our favorite spots in Charlottetown Salt & Sol.
#5 East End – Basin Head, Souris
When things line up here you can get some AMAZING surf. Seriously we aren’t lying, a strong 2 day Easterly wind can create epic sandbar reefs that result in perfect curling wave breaks. If these conditions lined up daily PEI would become the next Atlantic Canada surfers paradise.

Launch Area – Large beach launch at Basin Head Provincial Park, we recommend rigging your gear on the beach, and keep an eye out for sharp oysters!
